Holcim reduziert Beteiligung an Siam City Cement Company in Thailand und veräussert Beteiligung in Guatemala
Holcim Ltd hat ihre Beteiligung an Siam City Cement (Public) Company Limited (SCCC) von 36,8 Prozent auf 27,5 Prozent reduziert. Die Aktien wurden von Bangkok Broadcasting and Television Co., Ltd., einem Unternehmen der Ratanarak-Gruppe, erworben, und deren Beteiligung an SCCC steigt damit auf 47 Prozent. Bei Holcim wird SCCC per 1. Januar 2013 gemäss den revidierten IFRS-Rechnungslegungs-Standards konsolidiert. Holcim bleibt strategischer Partner von SCCC.
SCCC ist eine führende Baustoffgruppe, die im Werk Saraburi über eine Produktionskapazität von 16,5 Millionen Tonnen Zement verfügt. 2011 wurde mit 3250 Mitarbeitenden ein Umsatz von USD 755 Millionen erzielt (siehe www.siamcitycement.com).
Die Ratanarak-Gruppe ist nicht nur im Baustoffgeschäft engagiert, sondern verfügt auch über eine gewichtige Präsenz im Banken- und Versicherungswesen sowie im Immobilien- und TV-Bereich.
Zudem veräusserte Holcim ihre Beteiligung von 20 Prozent an Cementos Progreso S.A. (Progreso) an die Mehrheitsaktionärin Grupo Cemcal S.A. Progreso besitzt ein Zementwerk in San Miguel mit einer Jahreskapazität von 3 Millionen Tonnen.
Für die Veräusserung der beiden Aktienpakete, die Teil der Holcim Leadership Journey ist, erhält Holcim rund CHF 375 Millionen.

Holcim reduces stake in Siam City Cement Company in Thailand and sells its minority shareholding in Guatemala
Holcim Ltd has reduced its shareholding in Siam City Cement (Public) Company Limited (SCCC) from 36.8 percent to 27.5 percent. The shares have been purchased by Bangkok Broadcasting and Television Co., Ltd., a company of the Ratanarak Group, which will increase its shareholding in SCCC to 47 percent. At Holcim, SCCC will be accounted for as per the revised IFRS accounting standards as of January 1, 2013. Holcim will remain the strategic partner of SCCC.
SCCC is a leading construction materials group which has a cement production capacity of 16.5 million tonnes at its Saraburi plant. With 3,250 employees, the company recorded net sales of USD 755 million in 2011 (see www.siamcitycement.com).
The Ratanarak Group’s investments not only cover construction materials businesses; the Group also has an important presence in the banking and insurance business, as well as in real estate and television broadcasting.
Furthermore, Holcim sold its 20 percent stake in Cementos Progreso S.A. (Progreso) to its majority shareholder, Grupo Cemcal S.A. Progreso, which owns a cement plant in San Miguel with an annual capacity of 3 million tonnes.
For the sale of these two share packages, which is part of the Holcim Leadership Journey, Holcim has received approximately CHF 375 million.
