IMPORTANT CUSTOMER WINS FOR ASCOM WIRELESS SOLUTIONS ACROSS SEGMENTS AND TECHNOLOGIES

Ascom’s Division Wireless Solutions announces strategically important customer wins reinforcing its leading position across different market segments in the public as well as in the private sector. Ascom’s purpose- built communication systems create value for customers in different market segments such as healthcare, retail and secure establishments.

Orlando Health strengthens its Ascom partnership to further improve its communication Orlando Health is a leading healthcare system with over 14’000 employees comprised of multiple facilities throughout Central Florida, USA. Orlando Health has selected Ascom again as its wireless voice system provider what proves that Ascom’s special focus on healthcare communication continues to be successful.

In late 2011, Ascom and other vendors responded to a Request For Proposal (RFP) from Orlando Health to upgrade its existing communications platform to new VoWiFi handset technology that would leverage its investment in a system-wide wireless LAN. The vendor selection was stringent and involved a live trial in five hospitals across multiple nursing units. Ascom proved to be the vendor of choice for the end users. The users’ selection of Ascom was based on success criteria that included ease of use, durability, and the timely and knowledgeable response of sales, support, and management to any questions or concerns during the process.

Denmark’s largest prison invests substantially in staff security Thanks to a substantial investment in state-of-the-art technology for personal security systems, Denmark’s largest prison Vestre Fængsel can improve the personal security for staff members and create a safer working environment. The prison switches to wireless technology and its staff will in future only carry a cordless phone from Ascom Wireless Solutions.

Ascom will supply an IP-DECT based personal safety solution which combines communication, personal security and positioning in a single handset for all staff. Thanks to IP technology, administration will be more efficient and costs lower, since all communication and personal security will be managed and monitored via a centralized system. The Ascom system offers accurate positioning to ensure that help arrives immediately in an emergency case.

The order is part of a framework agreement, which Ascom signed with the Danish prison authorities (Kriminalforsorgen) in 2009.

Ascom further strengthens its position in the UK retail business and supplies now three out of the top five UK retailers Ascom understands the pressures retailers face in this competitive market, thus making processes as streamlined as possible is the key to their success. Ascom bridges the gap and integrates their solution in to existing infrastructures, enabling retailers to be more efficient.

The offering of Ascom Wireless Solutions encompasses the supply of an IP-DECT voice and messaging solution for all stores of the retailer throughout the United Kingdom. The fully integrated solution will be centrally managed from the head office of the retailer and incorporates voice, messaging, and delivery management applications. Ascom’s solutions also provide retailers with a fast process to execute product removals as this can be a key health and safety issue. The Ascom offering includes the Ascom d81 phone which provides optimal user protection in rugged environments.

Ascom’s solution was chosen from three out of the top five UK retailers above competitors’ offerings as the best technical and integrated solution.
